For Number of LDEVs, type the number of V-VOLs (LDEVs) to be created.
The range is shown below the text box.
For LDEV Name, type a name of the V-VOL.
- For Prefix, type the alphanumeric characters, which are fixed characters placed before
the V-VOL name. The characters are case-sensitive.
- For Initial Number, type the initial number for V-VOL.
Digit limit: 9
Character limit: 32 including the Prefix and Initial number
The following items are required:
Provisioning Type
System Type
Emulation Type
LDEV Capacity
Number of LDEVs
4. Click Options.
5. In the option area of the window, for Initial LDEV ID, set the initial LDEV ID. Click View LDEV
IDs to confirm the used number and unavailable number.
6. In the View LDEV IDs window, complete the following, and then click Add:
For Initial SSID, type the SSID as the 4-digit representation of a hexadecimal number
(0004 to FFFE).
To confirm the generated SSID, click View SSID to open the View SSID windows.
For Cache Partition, select the CLPR.
From the Processor Blade list, select a processor blade.
Select a processor blade to be used by the LDEVs. If you assign a processor blade, select
the processor blade ID. If you can assign any processor blade, click Auto.
The created V-VOLs are added to the Selected LDEVs table. If the invalid values are set, an
error message appears. If an item that must be set is not entered or selected, you cannot click
Add.
The following items are required:
Provisioning Type
System Type
Emulation Type
LDEV Capacity
Number of LDEVs
7. Click Finish.
8. (Optional) In the Confirm window, to continue the task for setting the LU path and define LUN,
click Next.

9. If necessary, change the settings of the V-VOLs. You can change the following settings:
SSID
Click Edit SSIDs to open the Edit SSIDs window.
