Causes and solutionsProblem
To check whether the host has access to pair volumes, see “Pair status (page 14).
Cause: A port may go offline because access to a volume on another port has been rejected.When the host computer tries
to access the port, an error
Solutions:
occurs and the host cannot
access the port.
Wait awhile, then retry the task.
If a host application is installed to monitor the volume, stop the application.
Causes:RWC frequently times out.
The load on RWC is too heavy and it cannot respond to the SVP.
The time-out period is not long enough.
Solutions:
Wait awhile, then retry the task.
Verify the RWC RMI time-out period.

FS processing may be in progress. After the FS processing finishes, the update will be complete.The pair information in Local
Replications window is not
updated. The date and time for
Last Updated is not updated.
The write operation from the host is running the copy processing. The copy processing must finish
before the used pool capacity shown on the summary tab in the Pool window and on the list in
the Primary Volumes tab match.

The workflow for recovering blocked pools workflow
Use the following process to recover blocked pools:
1. Recover the blocked pool-VOLs.
For more information about recovering blocked pool-VOLs, contact HP Technical Support.
2. Recover the pool. Do one of the following:
Add additional pool-VOLs to the pool.
Increase the unused capacity. To do this, delete all snapshot data from the P-VOLs.
For more information about recovering a blocked pool, see “Recovering pools (page 60).
3. Recover the pairs. To do this, delete the pair.
If the pool is blocked, the status of all pairs with snapshot data in the pool changes to “PSUE”.
To recover the pairs in this status, delete them.
4. Recover the V-VOLs.
For more information about recovering V-VOLs, contact HP Technical Support.
