3DC configurations using 3 Cnt Ac-J sites
With Continuous Access Journal, you normally use two data centers—the primary and secondary
sites.
You can employ a third site to create a 3-data-center (3DC) configuration. Using three sites makes
a third copy of production data available in the event of primary and secondary site failure.
You can set up three Cnt Ac-J sites in multi-target or cascade configurations. You also have the
option of adding a delta resync pair.
For details, see “3 Cnt Ac-J data-center configurations” (page 126).
Planning for previous models
Continuous Access Journal can be used to perform remote copy operations between P9500 and
XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array or XP12000 Disk Array.
To perform remote copy between P9500 and XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array or XP12000 Disk
Array, observe the following:
Configure a remote path between LDKC00 of the P9500 system and the XP24000/XP20000
Disk Array.
More than one XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array can be connected to LDKC00 of P9500.
LDKC01 cannot be used.
Use the configuration instructions in “Configuration operations” (page 44).
Both systems must be set up as shown in the figure below.
