3DC configurations using 3 Cnt Ac-J sites
With Continuous Access Journal, you normally use two data centers—the primary and secondary
sites.
You can employ a third site to create a 3-data-center (3DC) configuration. Using three sites makes
a third copy of production data available in the event of primary and secondary site failure.
You can set up three Cnt Ac-J sites in multi-target or cascade configurations. You also have the
option of adding a delta resync pair.

Planning for previous models
Continuous Access Journal can be used to perform remote copy operations between P9500 and
XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array or XP12000 Disk Array.
To perform remote copy between P9500 and XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array or XP12000 Disk
Array, observe the following:
• Configure a remote path between LDKC00 of the P9500 system and the XP24000/XP20000
Disk Array.
◦ More than one XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array can be connected to LDKC00 of P9500.
◦ LDKC01 cannot be used.
Use the configuration instructions in “Configuration operations” (page 44).
• Both systems must be set up as shown in the figure below.
