Figure 27 Shared Cnt Ac-J and BC primary volume
• A Cnt Ac-J secondary volume shared with the BC primary volume is illustrated below. With
this configuration, multiple backup copies of the Cnt Ac-J primary volume can be made on
the secondary system.
CAUTION: When you share a Cnt Ac-J S-VOL with a BC P-VOL as shown in the following
figure, the restore operation to the Cnt Ac-J S-VOL takes time. This is especially the case when
the BC pair is in the PSUS(SP)/PSUS status because of the time needed to copy the BC pair.
Because of the extra time that may be needed, make sure the Cnt Ac-J journal volume is sized
with enough capacity to handle the possible increase in I/O. If journal volume capacity is
insufficient, the pair will suspend because of failure. If necessary, contact HP Support for
assistance.
