• If a Cnt Ac-J pair is suspended when the Cnt Ac-S S-VOL is in PAIR or COPY status, the Cnt
Ac-S pair becomes suspended by error.
• A Cnt Ac-J pair cannot be released if cascaded with a Cnt Ac-S pair. To release a Cnt Ac-J
pair, first release the Cnt Ac-S pair, then release the Cnt Ac-J pair.
Specifications and restrictions for Continuous Access Synchronous pair operations
• Specify a volume for the Cnt Ac-S P-VOL that is not used in a Cnt Ac-J pair In the 2DC
configuration, use the journal that was registered when 2DC Cascade was enabled.
• The Cnt Ac-J P-VOL that is specified for the Cnt Ac-S S-VOL must be in PAIR status. The only
available differential management unit is tracks.
• To re-synchronize the Cnt Ac-S pair, the Cnt Ac-J P-VOL must be in PAIR status.
• You cannot use the takeover command on the Cnt Ac-S S-VOL when suspending the Cnt Ac-S
pair.
• If you release the Cnt Ac-S pair when the Cnt Ac-J P-VOL is in COPY status, the Cnt Ac-J pair
becomes suspended by error.
• For Cnt Ac-J, an X at the end of the device ID indicates the LDEV is a Thin Provisioning virtual
volume. However, the X does not display when both of the following conditions exist:
◦ The Cnt Ac-S S-VOL is a Thin Provisioning virtual volume.
◦ The Cnt Ac-J S-VOL is not a Thin Provisioning virtual volume.
