General fax problems
Use this table to solve fax problems.
Problem Cause Recommended action
The fax was not transmitted. The JBIG mode is enabled and the
receiving fax does not have JBIG
capability.
Turn JBIG off. See chapter 4 of the User
Reference Guide on the CD-ROM for more
information.
An OUT OF MEMORY message
appears on the status message
bar.
The MFP storage disk is full. Delete some files from the disk.
The print quality of a photo is
poor or prints as a gray box.
The Page Content mode setting is
incorrect.
Try setting the Page Content mode to
Graphics or Text and Graphics. See
“Sending a fax by typing the number
manually” on page 69.
