The <physical location> value must be formatted as either an 8–byte hexadecimal

integer, or a long or medium hardware resource path string (short form strings are not

supported).

TEST FABRIC

• Command:

TEST FABRIC

• Description:

Performs an active test of the complex interconnect fabric, the CAMNet manageability fabric,

the global clock distribution, and the OA links. This test detects problems resulting from

malfunctioning hardware, missing or broken cables, or from incorrect cabling. Any test failures

results in a series of hardware indictments referencing specific hardware elements encountering

problems. To view the generated indictments, see “SHOW INDICT” (page 159).

NOTE: TEST FABRIC cannot be run on an active complex. You must shut down all partitions

before using the TEST FABRIC command.

TEST CLOCKS

• Command:

TEST CLOCKS <physical location>

• Description:

The command verifies the following:

Global clock distribution to ensure that GPSM clock control registers are set appropriately

for the complex type

◦ If there are no partitions active, the test will also actively manipulate clock generators to

ensure that the cabling is correct on multi-enclosure systems.

◦ This test is also run as part of the test fabric command, which requires that no

partitions are active.

◦ All clock sources are working

◦ Each blade is receiving both complex global clock signals
