Installing a hard disk drive in the optical drive bay
TIP: For optimum performance, install the hard disk drive in the bottom bay.
1. Disconnect power from the workstation (see Predisassembly procedures on page 73).
2. Remove the side access panel (see
Removing the side access panel on page 75).
3. Carefully separate the carrier rails and set the drive between them, aligning the pins with the holes.
Release the rails to secure the rails on the drive as shown in the following figure.

4. Carefully squeeze the rails together , and then slide the drive into the carrier

until it snaps into
place as shown in the following figure.
