My image is
too dark.
There was not
enough light.
! Wait for natural lighting
conditions to improve.
! Add indirect lighting.
! Use the flash (see page 43).
! Adjust the EV Compensation
(see
page 57).
! Use AE Bracketing (see
page 74).
! Use Adaptive Lighting (see
page 68).
The flash was
on, but the
subject was too
far away.
Make sure your subject is within
the flash working distance (see
page 178). If so, try using the
Flash Off
setting (see
page 43), which will require a
longer exposure (use a tripod).
A light is
behind the
subject.
! Use the Flash On setting (see
page 43), or use Adaptive
Lighting (see page 68) to
brighten the subject.
! Increase the EV Compensation
(see
page 57).
! Use the Spot setting for AE
Metering (see page 66).
The scene had
many light-
colored objects,
such as a white
dog in snow.
Increase the EV Compensation (see
page 57).
